Dan Parent is a comic book artist and writer best known for his work with Archie Comics. Parent began working for Archie immediately after graduating from The Kubert School, and has worked on series like ARCHIE, BETTY AND VERONICA, and SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH. He created the first openly gay character in Archie Comics history, Kevin Keller, who went on to star in his own self-titled comic series in 2011 (with Dan at the helm). Keller skyrocketed in popularity and was later featured as a key character in The CW television series, RIVERDALE.
Parent is co-creator of the hit comic series, DIE KITTY DIE, originally funded via Kickstarter in 2016, and currently published by Chapterhouse Comics.
He has also lent his skills to comic titles like FELIX THE CAT, BARBIE, DISNEY ADVENTURES, and a variety of Archie crossover titles, including: ARCHIE MEETS KISS, ARCHIE MEETS BATMAN '66, RED SONJA AND VAMPIRELLA MEET BETTY AND VERONICA, ARCHIE VS. PREDATOR, and ARCHIE VS. SHARKNADO.
In 2013, Dan received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book (KEVIN KELLER), and was also nominated for a Harvey Award for Humor in Comics.
